City seeks volunteers to create Transit Action Plan

The City of Malden is seeking four residents to volunteer and guide public input on the creation of its first Transit Action Plan. Development of this plan will be based on Malden residents’ experiences using MBTA bus, subway and commuter rail services. The final plan will outline opportunities to improve the city’s transit services and connect them to other modes of travel, like walking and bicycling.

Volunteers will serve on the Mayor’s Sustainable and Equitable Transportation Task Force. This Task Force includes city staff, residents and a City Council representative. The Mayor’s Office specifically seeks residents from transit-dependent households willing to help expand outreach to fellow transit users. Meetings will take place about once a month over the course of 2022, along with three planned community meetings.

If you would like to join this Task Force, please send a brief email expressing your interest to John Alessi (ja*****@ma*****************.com) before 12 p.m. on Monday, December 20. Interviews for this position will take place between December 27-29. The Task Force will begin meeting in January 2022.
