Firefighter injured battling 3-alarm blaze inside multistory Lowell St. home

  Malden firefighters spent Monday night battling flames inside a multistory home on Lowell Street. One firefighter was brought down in a gurney after suffering injuries in the blaze. According to reports, one resident along with two friends were able to escape the flames without injury and aided in getting a woman out safely.

  A total of 15 adults and six children lived inside of the home, according to Fire Chief Bill Sullivan.

  The fire chief later confirmed the firefighter suffered from smoke inhalation and was expected to recover.
