BOSTON, MA – State Senator Jason Lewis is proud to be endorsed for re-election by numerous labor unions representing hundreds of thousands of working families across the Commonwealth. They include: SEIU 1199, SEIU 509, UFCW 1445, NASW-MA, MOSES, MTA, AFT, and BTU.

Senator Lewis has long championed labor rights and policies that advance economic opportunity and justice for poor and working families. He led the effort to raise the minimum wage in Massachusetts to $15 an hour and the creation of the nation’s strongest Paid Family and Medical Leave program.

“SEIU 509 is proud to endorse Jason Lewis for State Senator,” said Peter MacKinnon, President of SEIU 509. “From working closely with Senator Lewis to pass Paid Family and Medical Leave in Massachusetts, we know that he is a tireless champion for working families who will continue to amplify our members’ voices in the State Senate. We look forward to continuing our work side by side to lift up working families when he is re-elected.”

“MOSES recognizes Senator Lewis’ commitment to public employees and retirees, and we are proud to endorse and stand with him in his re-election campaign,” said Patrick Russell, President of MOSES. “We look forward to working with him as he continues to advocate for policies that protect hard working state employees and make the Commonwealth a great place to work and live.”

“Labor unions helped build the middle class in America and secure many of the labor rights, benefits and protections that we all take for granted today,” said Senator Jason Lewis. “I’m proud to stand alongside organized labor and continue to fight for greater economic opportunity and fairness for all Massachusetts residents.”

Senator Lewis has represented the Fifth Middlesex District in the state Senate since 2014. He will be facing Republican Ed Dombroski in the November election.
