Malden ‘Jakes’ take care of business at Eastern Ave. fire

Malden firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at 138 Eastern Ave. on Monday where flames could be seen emanating from the roof of a mixed-use residential and commercial complex. One firefighter suffered minor injuries. It was unknown at press time whether the fire started in the auto shop or the apartments above.(Advocate photos by Michael Layhe)
