Malden patrolman recuperating after being struck by car on duty

Longtime officer seriously hurt with non-life-threatening injuries while responding to a call

  A veteran Malden Police Officer is recuperating at home after being struck by a car and thrown across the windshield in Malden last Thursday night, according to reports. Patrolman Mike Langston, a well-known, longtime local officer was crossing the street while responding to a call when he was hit by a car, according to Malden police. Police say Ptl. Langston was thrown across the windshield of the car and onto the ground while assisting with a call at the busy Malden intersection of Cross and Main Streets.

  Officer Langston was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment with serious, non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. Police report that he is recuperating at home with his family.

  “Police officers go out and often encounter the unexpected, the spontaneous, and the unpredictable,” Malden Police Chief Kevin Molis said in an online statement. “I spoke to Mike, he’s doing well, and he waits anxiously to be able to come back to work.”
