Mayor Gary Christenson participated in a Ribbon “Tying” Ceremony at new business Rannsak, which is located at 339 Pleasant St. Rannsak called the event a “tying” ceremony symbolically to show how they are trying to tie the community together. Rannsak is a Peer-2-Peer equipment rental marketplace for tools, outdoor equipment, party accessories and more. The goal of business owners Patrick and Jessica Sherman is to reinvent sustainability by bringing together people who want to try new things and people who want to utilize their assets to make supplemental income. Instead of people spending money that is sent to faceless corporations, they hope to keep money in the community as well as creating strong neighborhood relationships.

Their goal is to make renting a convenient and eco-friendly way of accessing the items people might need in their daily lives. By sharing resources, the objective is to offer a solution that not only benefits individuals but also has a positive impact on the environment.

“We are focused on reducing spending, increasing sustainability, and decreasing consumption,” said Patrick Sherman, a disabled Veteran who saw combat during two tours to Iraq. “Rannsak offers a user-friendly platform that makes it easy for anyone to rent out their belongings.”
