Brian S. Cann, Sr.

A lifelong resident of Malden passed away on Thursday, October 21st, in Boston. Brian was born in Malden in 1945, the son of Russell and Virginia Cann. He was raised in Malden, and after completing his education, he went into the construction field. For many years he was self-employed as a carpenter, contractor, and homebuilder, and was the owner of Cann Construction. He later went on to own and operate Cann Pest Control.
In 1967, Brian married his sweetheart, Joan M. McBride. The two then settled down in Malden to raise their family. They shared 50 years of Marriage until Joan’s passing in 2017. Brian’s two great passions in life were family and work.

He is survived by his children, Denise M. Cann of Saugus and fiancé Kevin Howard, Brian S. Cann Jr. and wife Jennifer of Saugus, and Paul D. Cann of Malden, his brothers, Larry Cann of Haverhill, Andrew Cann of Harvard, his sister Sharon Cann and her wife, Maureen O’Hearn of Derry NH, his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Pa”, Dylan M., Olivia E., Alex B., and Lyrik Howard all of Saugus, as well as many nieces and nephews

Brian was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan M. (McBride) Cann.
