Eugene Francis, Duggan, Jr.

71 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2021, surrounded by family in his home in Marco Island, FL.  Gene served his country in the US Army with the HHC 159th Aviation Battalion in the 101st Airborne Division.  Gene was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal with V Device, Parachute Badge, Expert M-16 Assault Rifle.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Donna Marie Duggan (Liadis),

children, Stephanie Duggan of Essex, MA, Pamela Leggiere and husband James of Daytona, FL, Danielle Valley and husband Jimmy of Saugus and Janine Morgan of Prescott, AZ; stepdaughters and their husbands, Stacy and Gregory Winn of Winchester, Crystal and Christopher Morano of Malden and Amanda and Anthony Berriola of Stoneham.  He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren; Shauna, Aidan, Michayla, Shain, Gregory, Kaya Jean, Patrick, Collin, Kyle, Melissa, and Jameson, and great-granddaughter Addilyn.

Gene has many devoted siblings, Steve Duggan from Fort Myers, FL, Jim Duggan and wife Linda of Naples, FL, Tom Duggan and wife Gail from Phoenix, AZ, Shirley Rooney of Malden, Mike Duggan and longtime companion Jojo of Bradenton, FL, Kathleen Duggan of Peabody and Vinnie Duggan of Melrose.  He is also survived by his Aunt Sis & Aunt Jen, dear Uncle Bud, of Malden plus all of his loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gene is predeceased by his parents, Eugene F. Duggan, Sr. and Shirley A. (Swansburg).

Gene was a Maldonian for most of his life. He was a proud, retired Local 7 Ironworker and a longtime member of the East Side Athletic Association in Malden, the VFW, American Legion and DAV where he made countless lifelong friendships.

He lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed spending his days riding his motorcycle, golfing, fishing, boating, camping and playing his guitar with family and friends.  His girls were the light of his life.  Ultimately, Gene fulfilled his dream with “his Donna Marie”, on Marco Island, Florida, where they created their paradise.

Friends and family attended a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St, Malden, MA on Tuesday, November 23 at 10am. Services concluded with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden.  For additional information, please visit www.gatelyfh.com.
