John F. “Jack” Jarvis, Jr.

Of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Former Malden resident and U.S. Navy veteran died May 12, 2021 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A 1971 graduate of Malden High School, Jack had lived in Florida for the last 40 years.

Jack was born in Malden to the late John F. Jarvis Sr. and Marie F. Lawlor. He was the half-brother of the late Robert L. Banister LCDR U.S. Navy Ret., brother of Kevin Jarvis and the late Robert Jarvis.

Jack also leaves his wife of 30 years Lydia Lanata Jarvis and two daughters Jodi Lynn Jarvis and her husband Shawn Ouelette of New Hampshire and Nicole Fookes of Arizona. He was the grandfather of Gabriel Ouelette and Danielle, Jessica and MicKenzie Fookes.

While in high school, Jack worked for both the Fitzpatrick Bros. and Spadafora caterers in Malden and later worked at the Kernwood Restaurant.

In 1971, Jack joined the U.S. Navy from Malden and served onboard the destroyer USS William M. Wood and at the U.S. Naval Station in Great Lakes, IL during the Vietnam War.

Prior to retiring a few years ago, Jack worked as the Property Manager for Cypress Head, a real estate and land development company in Parkland FL for 30 years.

Burial will be on November 9, 2021 at 11 am at the Fort Devens VA Cemetery in Devens, MA.
