Malden senior captain Jonald Joseph (21) was all business as he backed in and waited for an opening against a Somerville defender in the 58-54 win at home last Wednesday, which clinched a MIAA Division 1 State Tournament. Joseph led all scorers with 19 points in the tourney-clinching win, sinking a remarkable 9 of 10 free throws in the third quarter. He hit 11 of 12 free throws in a major contribution to the win. The Malden High Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams are waiting for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) to announce its State Basketball Tournament pairings.
