Travel with the Shute Library as it introduces The Armchair Travel Program

Christmas is over and credit card bills are due. The darkness and cold of winter are upon us, and you’d just like to get away. Let us help. Come to the Shute Memorial Library on Monday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. We will whisk you to the exotic country of Morocco. Wanderlust Travel will describe the culture and country. A belly dancer will share some of the country’s music and dance. The folks from Revere restaurant Casa Blanca, which is soon to have a home here in Everett, will provide the flavors of the country. You might not be going to St. Barts or St. Croix, but take a trip for an hour with us to Morocco.

Everett Public Libraries to kick off the 18 In ’18 Challenge

Last year the Everett Public Libraries challenged the citizens of Everett to read 17 books in the year 2017. So many participated! They enjoyed meeting and listening to guest authors and buying signed books. The program was so successful that the libraries are challenging you again! Read 18 books in the year 2018!

Author Michael Ponsor at the Parlin Library

On Wednesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m., the Parlin Library offers Judge Michael Ponsor, author of “The Hanging Judge” and “The One-Eyed Judge.” If you like fast-paced judicial thrillers that reflect the legal challenges of the world today, these books are for you. If you haven’t read them, look to the Libby app by OverDrive for eBooks, or bring your library card to the Shute or Parlin Libraries! Light refreshments will be served thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Everett Public Libraries.

The Parlin Library is located at 410 Broadway in Everett. For more information, call the Parlin Information Desk at (617) 394 2300.
