City announces free parking meters through Dec. 16

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Revere is stepping up the holiday spirit with a couple of programs that should make everyone in the city merry. Last Saturday the City of Revere kicked off its holiday parking schedule, and parking meter fees and fines were not enforced. Holiday parking will also be in effect on Dec. 10 and 17. The hope is that holiday parking will encourage people to shop locally rather than face the horror of the malls.

In addition to the free parking, anyone who has a parking ticket can participate in the parking amnesty program, which began on Nov. 29 and runs through Dec. 16. Like last year, the city will waive $30 per ticket, for up to five tickets, in exchange for a new, unused toy of similar or greater value, which will be given to a child in need in the school district.
