Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Held in federal custody since July 2021, Cesar Rivera, 22, of Revere, was indicted on January 12 for the alleged possession of crack cocaine, fentanyl and a firearm. According to law enforcement officials, by December 2020, Rivera had amassed a number of outstanding warrants related to state firearm cases. Rivera allegedly failed to appear in court for more than one year.

However, on December 22, 2020, police found him at a Malden car wash and took him into custody. At the time, Rivera was reportedly carrying more than 28 grams of crack cocaine, fentanyl and a firearm. He was subsequently charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute 28 grams of crack cocaine and fentanyl as well as one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

If convicted, Rivera could face life plus 40 years in prison and up to $5.2 million in fines.
