Approximately 360 wreaths were placed on veterans’ graves to wish them a merry Christmas and to thank them for their service during Saturday’s National Wreaths Across America Day ceremony at Riverside Cemetery.

Members of the Parson Roby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), who sponsored the event, asked attendees when placing wreaths on veterans’ graves to say their names aloud and take a moment to thank them for their service to the United States. “It’s a small act that goes a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive,” Parson Roby Chapter Regent Charlotte Line said.
