On Sept. 17, 1787, at 4 p.m., the U.S. Constitution was signed. On Sunday, Children and Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated that historic moment in history by ringing bells in front of Town Hall on Constitution Day.
“The celebration’s goal are threefold: to encourage the study of the historical events that led to the framing of the Constitution in September 1787, to remind the public that the Constitution is the basis of America’s great heritage and the foundation for its way of life, and to emphasize United States’ citizens to protect, defend and preserve the United States Constitution,” Constitution Week Chair, Parson Roby Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution Teri Bragg said.
