Members of the Historical Society and Garden Club and visitors went back in time – when the town had more farmland – during Saturday’s Strawberry Festival at the American Legion. On Saturday, 12 vendors sold items on the lawn. According to Historical Society President Laura Eisener, the festival revived when Saugus was a bit more rural with farmland: when strawberries may have been more common and were grown on local farms.

Town Manager Scott Crabtree and former School Committee member Jeannie Meredith supported the cause.
