Virginia W. (Woodward) Gray

Of Saugus. Died at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Monday, November 6th at the age of age 97. She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Gray.

Virginia was a lifelong resident of Saugus. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Virginia (Brown) Woodward.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her three children, Kenneth Gray and his wife Carmen of Saugus, Prudence Demmler of New York, and Lucinda “Cindy” Murgia of Saugus; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Nancy Olpin and Janette Gage.

Virginia graduated from Salem State College and became an elementary school teacher. She was an active member of the Saugus Senior Center where she waitressed for the lunch crowd, enjoyed line dancing, drill, tap, and later chair yoga. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star and Center Methodist Church.

Virginia spent her summers in Ipswich on Eagle Hill. She and her sister enjoyed gambling on the boat out of Lynn and Senior bus trips to Foxwoods.
